jetWorks Fine Art Digital Printing

The word Giclee ( pronounced zhee-clay) comes from the French word meaning “squirt”. Our printer is an Epson Stylus Pro 9800 with large format capacity, printing at capacity of 44 inches wide and an almost unlimited amount of length! This wide range provides a wide range of sizes for the artist to choose from. Additionally, inks used by jetWorks are pigment-based inks by Epson Ultra chrome K3 ink. Pigment-based inks have a longer life span than dye-based inks and are light tested to last anywhere from 100 to 200 years without significant fading. The variety of eight inks provide a  sophisticated color range for the final print using thousands of small ‘squirts’.

Our paper is Epson Archival series, acid free, ultra-smooth finish for the best possible color match to an original work. Another option for printing is our canvas. We use a heavyweight cotton-poly blend, acid free canvas with a smooth finish.

Giclees are in a unique category of fine art prints because they are reproductions of paintings, drawings and photographs using the digital process. These reproductions provide multiple versions of an existing painting for an artist to sell at a lower price, without compromising quality. Many artists may print a limited quantity of 10 or 25 prints so that they may proof and sign each one individually. But id you are looking to print just one print from an original we can do that too and it won’t affect price.
